I recently installed a BP-VGRVIIRD following the instructions for all thermal pad and graphite pad positioning.  I did not apply any thermal paste on either side of the graphite pad as that appeared to be optional.  My gpu temp at load is about 60c but the junction temp is >110c.

Are there any known issues with this mounting technique?  How can I get that junction temperature down significantly?

Hello brentmjohnson,

Would you send us the photos of the PCB and the water block, includes the thermal pads on the card or water block? We would like to see the pressed trace of the thermal pad. Please send it to following email address.

Dear Customer,

It is a better way to choose to use the Liquid Metal Pad and  liquid paste BPA-TP1 to replace the graphene thermal pad.
Please make the thermal paste around the liquid metal pad to avoid the liquid metal flowing out.
